- Secrets & Scents Soy Ring Candle
- Jackpot Candles Cinnamon Bun Ring Candle
- Fragrant Jewels Amethyst February Birthstone Ring Candle
- Jewelry Candles Beach Bum Ring Candle
- Fragrant Jewels Tahitian Dream Ring Candle
But first of all, there are a few important things with ring candles to talk about.
What Are Ring Candles?
A ring candle is a regular scented candle, but with a surprise ring hidden inside. As you burn through the candle, it gets lower and lower, eventually exposing the hidden ring. This is what makes ring candles a very cute gift idea for your loved ones.
Typically, the rings hidden inside ring candles are picked randomly. The values of these randomly picked rings usually range from $10 to $5,000. Given that ring candles themselves cost up to $30, you could get exceptional value for the money if you get very lucky. Not only that, but a $5,000 ring in a candle would make for an exceptional gift!
With that said, we would like to talk about this value range a little bit more in-depth so that you know how you should approach ring candles.
Who Are Ring Candles Best For?
The way we view it, ring candles definitely aren’t the best option for big occasions. Ring candles certainly aren’t suitable for a proposal, for example, even though a $5,000 ring would be a great ring to propose with.
But the thing is that you are very unlikely to get a $5,000 ring. The cheaper the ring, the more likely it is that it will end up in your ring candle. Even if you buy 100 ring candles, you most likely will get 100 $10-$15 rings and no expensive rings.
It may sound harsh, but ring candles essentially are a lottery. Unlike a lottery ticket, a ring candle actually delivers value because you will get a ring no matter what, and you will be able to use the candle for its purpose. But it’s still a lottery, and like in a lottery, you are much more likely, so to say, to lose than to win.
Sellers of ring candles need to make a profit, and they will include as many of $5,000 rings as it is reasonable for them in the business sense. Sellers need to sell hundreds of cheaper rings to bring back the investment that they’ve made into a few more expensive rings. And needless to say, there are going to be many more cheap rings than expensive rings included in the candles.
And since you are unlikely to get an expensive ring, we suggest that you buy a candle ring for occasions where a cheaper ring is going to be appropriate. We can’t really give you recommendations here since what is appropriate depends on the situation and who you want to gift the ring to.
Hopefully, we were able to give you a clear idea of what you should be expecting from ring candles. They are undeniably cute gifts, but if the included ring is what you want to gift, then make sure that it’s going to be appropriate.
What To Consider When Shopping For A Ring Candle
Before moving on to our reviews, let’s talk about the few things that you should consider when shopping for that best ring candle.
Ring value estimates
To be fair, we don’t think that the ring value is important since what kind of a ring you will get comes down to luck. But it may be important to you, and if so, don’t ignore it.
Sellers will give ring value estimates in a range, e.g. $10 – $5,000 or $15-$7,500. As mentioned above, you are much more likely to get a $10 ring than a $5,000 one.
With this in mind, we suggest that you pay attention to the lower end of the range more. It might be best to go for a ring candle that offers the highest lower-end value since the difference between a $10 and $15 ring may be quite big.
Pay more attention to the ring size than its value estimates. If you know the ring size of the individual you want to gift the ring to, then this shouldn’t be at all problematic for you.
If the seller gives any specific sizing guides, then you may want to follow them since manufacturers may size their rings differently.
While the candle is essentially a fancy gift box, you should pay attention to it as well. After all, the candle also has a practical value, and the gift recipient, unaware of the ring, will treat a scented candle as a scented candle.
Needless to say, you should pick a fragrance that they are going to like. We suggest that you don’t experiment and go for a scent that you know that the recipient will like. The first impression is important, and besides, why not make the candle more pleasant and practical?
The candle size will determine how long the candle will last and how many hours of scent enjoyment it will bring. Typically, it’s better when scented candles are bigger so that they can deliver the aroma for a longer time.
This applies to ring candles as well, but a bigger candle also means that it may take a longer time for the ring to show itself. This will somewhat depend on the placement of the ring – rings usually aren’t at the bottom of the candle but closer to the middle. With that said, expect a bigger candle to take more time to show the gift.
Finally, the candle should be pleasant not only for the nose but also for the eye. Looks are less important than scent, but since the candle is essentially the gift package, you may want to get a ring with the fanciest package you can find.
Top 5 Ring Candle Reviews
If you want to gift your loved one a longer-lasting candle, then this ring candle by Secrets & Scents may be the best option.
Secrets & Scents claims that this candle delivers a burn time of 100-150 hours. This 21-ounce candle will take longer to expose the ring, but it will also provide longer-lasting fragrance enjoyment!
The ring included in Secrets & Scents candles can range from $10 to $5,000 in value, which is fairly typical for ring candles. At the moment of this post’s writing, ring sizes from 6 to 9 were available, which should fit most people.
Secrets & Scents also offers a necklace option for this ring candle, which may interest some buyers as well.
The particular Secrets & Scents ring candle came with an interesting blueberry cheesecake fragrance, but there are actually many more fragrances to choose from, including various fruit and tree fragrances.
- Plenty of scents.
- Ring value from $10 to $5,000.
- Large 21-ounce jar.
- May take a long time to expose the ring.
Jackpot Candles’ cinnamon bun ring candle again contains up to $5,000 rings, but its lower value range is a little higher, sitting at $15. Even in the cheapest case, you’ll probably get a decent ring.
The jar in this ring candle is sized at 15 ounces, so the ring should get revealed a little bit faster than in the Secrets & Scents ring candle. With that said, the Jackpot Candles candle should still deliver hours of fragrance.
Speaking of fragrance, the particular ring candle we’ve based our overview on comes with a pleasant cinnamon bun candle. Jackpot Candles also boasts that this ring candle uses wooden wick which ensures a cleaner burn and thus cleaner fragrance. But if your loved one happens not to love cinnamon scent, then you also have a few other options to choose from.

- Decently sized 15-ounce jar.
- Wooden wick for a cleaner burn.
- Ring value from $15 to $5,000.
- Not too many ring size options (at the moment of the post’s writing).
In terms of ring sizes, the previous two ring candles were a little lackluster. In case you need more sizes, then have a look at this ring candle by Fragrant Jewels. At the moment of this post’s writing, sizes from 5 to 10 were available for this candle.
Unfortunately, Fragrant Jewels doesn’t provide value estimates for the included rings. But judging by the user reviews, the included rings are indeed nice.
Fragrant Jewels boasts a proprietary coconut wax blend designed for a cleaner burn. It’s difficult to say how this wax blend will work for you compared with the wood blend in the Jackpot Candles candle, but we’d say that your decision should be based more on preference. The wood blend will probably be better for a bigger number of people, but some people will prefer coconut.
Fragrant Jewels also writes that its candles are vegan, paraben-, phthalate, and cruelty-free. We can’t say whether the previous ring candles were vegan since the sellers mention nothing about it, but they probably are.
- Plenty of ring sizes.
- Coconut wax blend for a cleaner burn.
- Vegan and cruelty-free.
- Pricey for its size.
This ring candle by Jewelry Candles has the widest jewelry value range on the list – from $15 to $7,500! Not only that, but you have size 5 to 11 rings to choose from, not to mention that you may also buy this candle with other jewelry like earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.
Jewelry Candles offers a good range of scent options as well. The particular option we based our review on was Beach Bum, a scent combining “juicy mandarin with sand jasmine” and “a hint of oceanic mist”. Well, this scent promises to be great for beach lovers!
This ring candle comes in a large 21-ounce jar, so you could expect a few days of scented enjoyment from this candle. But like it was with the Secrets & Scents candle, it may take more time for the ring to show itself.
And finally, Jewelry Candle writes that its jewelry candles are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
- Plenty of ring sizes, jewelry options, and scents.
- Large 21-ounce jar.
- Jewelry value from $15 to $7,500.
- 100% vegan.
- It will take more time for the jewelry to get exposed.
And the fifth ring candle on our list is the Tahitian Dream ring candle by Fragrant Jewels, which is very similar to the Amethyst February ring candle we’ve overviewed a little earlier. The main things that are different in this ring candle are the amount of candle and the fragrance.
Fragrant Jewels includes a 17-ounce pour in this ring candle, promising around 75 hours of burn time, which is about what you’d expect from a candle of such size. 17 ounces isn’t the biggest on our list, but the ring again may show itself a little bit later than you’d like.
The Tahitian Dream ring candle comes in a “tropical floral” fragrance, which is quite fitting to the name of the candle. With that said, this is the only fragrance available for this ring candle – at least, at the moment of the review’s writing.
Like in the Amethyst February candle ring, you are getting a proprietary coconut wax blend that is promised to deliver a cleaner burn. Besides, Fragrant Jewels claims that this ring candle is vegan, as well as free from cruelty, parabens, and phthalates.
- Promises around 75 hours of burn time.
- Coconut wax blend for a cleaner burn.
- Pleasant tropical fragrance.
- Vegan and cruelty-free.
- Only available in one scent.
- May take some time for the ring to show itself.
Which ring candle did you like?
Personally, we give our vote to the Jewelry Candles Beach Bum Ring Candle. This candle will last a bit longer, has plenty of fragrance and ring size options, as well as has a higher minimum ring value than some other ring candles on our list.
The other four ring candles are great as well, but we feel that the Jewelry Candles Beach Bum Ring Candle is going to be a better option for many people. But if you feel that any of the other ring candles are better for your situation, then feel free to get them instead!
